Vertice and Autodesk: an interactive real-time 3D collaboration

23/11/2010

As a partner, Vertice is better able to deliver powerful solutions that extend the benefits of Autodesk architecture software.

The collaboration between Autodesk and Vertice helps provide a stronger, more accurate foundation for creating designs more efficiently. What’s more, the power of Autodesk Architecture solutions and Vertice helps to take your design ideas further.

“Together, Autodesk and Vertice provide an easy and intuitive way to experience designs in an interactive, simulated environment — enabling higher productivity and competitive advantage.” —Brook Potter, Sr. Industry Manager, Autodesk, Architecture

Nova Studio is unique because 3D models can be transformed within minutes into fully interactive 3D scenes without specialized knowledge of interactive 3D. Data from 3ds Max or Autodesk Revit, including models, textures and animations is easily exported to Nova’s intelligent 3D engine and used to create a real-time environment as the viewer takes a virtual visit. Decision makers or end-users can navigate within the project and interact with it.

Vertice applies with Nova4Phone to the Windows Phone 7 contest

08/09/2010

After a desktop, Web and Microsoft Surface versions, Vertice reveals its latest Nova application developed especially for the Microsoft contest and dedicated to the mobile devices operating under Windows Phone 7.

Two first videos are published on the Facebook “Developers” page of to highlight the official registration to the competition and thus to present the killer-app “Nova4Phone” of Vertice to all the Net surfers already interested:

• 1st video Vertice - Nova4Phone:

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1413141241316

• 2nd video Vertice - Nova4Phone:

http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=461276955395

Thanks to the votes of the Facebook community, the seven videos who will get the most rates “I like” will be selected for a final presentation in front of Steve Ballmer and a jury of French contractors and investors, on October 7.

“Nova4Phone”, developed by David Catuhe, cofounder and chief technical officer of Vertice is an complete real-time 3D engine. The application allows to visualize real-time 3D scenes  on any telephone operating under Windows Phone 7. As long as the scene is created with a standard 3D modeling tool, it is then possible to export it towards Nova4Phone (via Nova Studio), and thus to fully benefit from the visual effects offered by real-time 3D:
- animation engine,
- collision engine,
- multi-cameras,
- management of the lightmaps,
- management of the interactions,
- management of the users interactions , etc

“To take part in such a contest is essential for a young and dynamic company like Vertice. It is a true challenge which enables us to show our know-how and the capacities of the Nova software to be adapted to the Microsoft platforms while remaining faithful to what makes our force: the speed and the quality of the rendering,” explains David Catuhe.

PROIN 3D works with VERTICE for the ADIF

20/07/2010

The ADIF, Administrator of the Spanish Railway Infrastructures, makes discover the future TGV station of Valencia (Spain) thanks to a real-time 3D modeling realized with the NOVA for 3ds Max of VERTICE solution, solution of creation and visualization of interactives 3D contents.

GOAL

To prepare its presence to the 30th edition of the FITUR in Madrid (International fair of Tourism), the ADIF (Administrator of the Spanish Railway Infrastructures) wished to offer to the public a virtual interactive 3D model representing the future high-speed station of Valencia.

CHOICE

PROIN 3D, intervening for the ADIF, adopts the NOVA 2009 solution of VERTICE to create an interactive model of future TGV station of Valencia.

Before the real-time realization, PROIN 3D was charged to conceive and realize for the ADIF a 3D film presenting the project of the station. All the 3D modelings and animations were done with the 3ds Max and Vray. The move to real-time was done with NOVA 2009 of VERTICE, after a large work of optimization of the 3D model and its textures. In spite of a plural offer on the 3D market, three reasons justify the choice of the NOVA 2009 of VERTICE solution:

- Its compatibility with 3ds Max, main 3D tool of ADIF.
- Its quality of rendering (shadows and reflexions), its ease of use and the no Royalties commercial policy.
- The customer assistance ensured by VERTICE.

In order to improve this 3D experience, the real-time project - allowing an immersion in the future infrastructure of the LGV LEVANTE - was projected at the show on a 6 meters diameter circular screen. Not less than 210.000 visitors present this year thus could discover and evolve in the real-time 3D scene using a joystick.

BENEFITS

“It is a big innovation in Spain in term of 3D applied to the infrastructures. With the appearance of this new tool, the decision makers and the clients foresee for certain projects broader perspectives to communicate with the populations, for their public dialogues,” explains Bernard Bressy, in charge of the commercial development of PROIN 3D.

The ADIF finds, through real-time, a new way of communicating, a powerful and ludic tool because it is interactive. It is a complementary tool, which does not have the role to replace the informative videos already used for the presentation of projects.

The real-time 3D project of the TGV station of Valencia is thus a true success which should allow the opening of new markets.
